It doesn't look easy to keep that nest hydrated.

You could drill holes in the top that dont go into any chambers and put fine mesh over is you are using a water absorbing plaster or grout.

Should work well for Camponotus (Carpenter ants) if they have access to a water source (like a test tube) at all times. Camponotus don't need any additional moisture they do fine at room humidity.

For ants that need it more moist (Myrmica etc., in fact most ants) it won't work well.
